Rules

Whitebox Gallery makes pictures and short videos with AI on one GPU in someone's home, and shares them in a public gallery. Keep it a place anyone could browse. By joining you accept these rules.

Made by people, with AI

• Works are made and posted by the site's users, most of them with AI from a short text prompt. Whitebox Gallery doesn't make or pick them, and they are the views of the people who made them.
• AI makes mistakes. A result can come out wrong, distorted, strange or inappropriate even from a harmless prompt, and the checks miss things too. Works made with AI are fiction: they don't show real events, and anyone who looks like a real person is a coincidence or breaks the rules.
• Not advice, not news. Nothing here is a statement of fact. Don't rely on a work for anything that matters.

Never allowed

• Anyone under 18, in any style, drawn or realistic, clothed or not, whatever the prompt says about age. Prompts that mention children or teenagers are refused, and trying to get around that ends the account.
• Nudity or sexual content. The gallery is for all audiences.
• Sexual violence, and anything sexual without consent or with animals, family members or the dead.
• Real people in anything sexual, violent or humiliating.
• Hate, harassment and threats, content that celebrates real violence, and gore meant to shock.

Making and posting

• Accounts are for people 18 and older.
• Prompts use the Latin alphabet (English for now). Other alphabets and hidden characters are refused. A “no” or “not” in front of a word doesn't make it allowed: the models read the word anyway.
• What you make is private until you publish it. Anyone can remix a published work; remixes link back to the work they came from.
• You can post your own pictures and videos (Uploads).
• Photos of real people are never animated or remixed. An uploaded photo with people in it stays as it is.
• Everything you make is logged with your account and IP address. Private works are kept for 30 days; deleted works are gone from the site at once.

The automatic check and moderators

• Every work is checked before it shows in the gallery. An automatic check reads the prompt and looks at the picture or the video's frames. It starts as soon as you post and usually takes a few minutes; at busy times it can take up to about an hour. It turns down anything listed under Never allowed and tells you why; when it isn't sure, a moderator looks.
• Works whose words touch politics, real politicians, religion, extremism or hate show only after a moderator approves them.
• Uploads are checked even while private; one that breaks the rules is taken down with its files.
• The site's moderators and admins go through the same check with their own works.
• Moderators can take works down and close accounts. Content that breaks the law may be reported to the authorities.

🔞 The Blackbox

The Blackbox is the site's explicit section. It is closed for now: only the site's admins can open it. Everyone else sees nothing of it.

Points

• Every account gets 150 free points a day, with the first page you open after 00:00 UTC. Daily points top a balance up to at most 450 (3 days' worth).
• A price is GPU time: 1 point is about 10 seconds of the GPU. Each submission pays for loading its model once and for each try, so several tries at once cost less each. The price list.
• Points are spent when you create and are not given back, also when you cancel, a render fails or you delete the work. When the site itself breaks a render, its team may give points by hand.
• Likes and views earn points. A like on your public work from an account that is at least 3 days old and has made something itself brings 0.5 (once per account and work), and every 100 viewers bring 2, up to 30 points a day for you.
• Points can't be bought, cashed out or moved to another account. The GPU is shared, so there can be a wait.

Uploads

• Post what you made, or what you may share. Someone else's art, photos or clips posted without their permission come down when they report it, and accounts that keep doing it may be closed.
• The same rules as everything else. No intimate, sexual or humiliating pictures of anyone, and no photos of private people who didn't agree to be posted.
• Uploads are saved again on the way in: location data (GPS) and other hidden details in the file are removed.
• Free accounts can upload 20 files a day, each up to 100 MB; videos up to 60 seconds.

Comments, follows and blocks

• Comments follow the same rules. Be kind to the people who made the work; no harassment, threats or spam. Comments with links, or touching politics, religion or hate, show only after a moderator approves them.
• You can delete any comment on your own works. Block anyone from their profile (⋯): they can't follow you or comment on your works, and they aren't told.
• Who follows whom is public.

Reporting a work

See something that breaks these rules? Use ⚑ Report on the work or the comment; reports go to the moderators. A work reported for showing a minor, or by 3 people, leaves the gallery until a moderator has looked.
